My Ruff Epileptic Life

Well life has certainly been interesting the last few months.  Back in November I had a seizure, it was pretty bad.  What made it even worse was that I fell off of my brothers bed during my seizure.  It was an extremely scary time for me.  My parents and brother rushed me to an emergency vet in Houston, luckily the vet was very informative and told my mom and dad how to respond if and when it ever happened again.  Medicating wasn't necessarily going to be beneficial to my condition as it would cause my other organs even more problems,  My mom is kinda of a hippie, she doesn't do meds.  My mom was pretty certain it was dog food, she had only changed it a week prior to my first seizure.  Ten days later, boom, I had another one.  It wasn't as bad as my first one, but still scary.  My mom was then positive that it was my new food.  She immediately went and bought my old food again.  My mom also has suspicions about the peanut butter that I loved so much.  She eventually stopped giving it to me.  By this point I was sleeping in the living room in my moms chair.  When she gets up to go to bed, I move to her side of the chair, it's all warm and comfy and makes me miss her less when she's fast asleep.  I went for almost 3 months without having any episodes.  Then in February, surprise!  Another really bad one, followed by a milder one.  I decided then that I wanted to be as close to mom and dad as possible!  Now I sleep under their bed!  With every seizure, I change my sleeping spot.  Mom has now moved me onto organic peanut butter, it's delicious and I'm a peanut butter colored pooch that loves his peanut butter!

We are now 4 months post my first seizure and I still won't go back into that bedroom.  They said that I'll likely not even remember having a seizure, well, I disagree!  Apparently seizure dogs are considered as "unhealthy", well I may be unhealthy, but I'm happy!  I may have seizures, but I'm happy and well loved and I love my people.

The beginning of my Ruff Life

Glad you paws'd to read my DogBlog!

I guess I should be a little formal and introduce myself, after the introduction, all formality goes out the window - I mean seriously, I'm a dog.

My name is Bosco Cullen, yep, after Edward Cullen, not that I even know who Edward Cullen is.  My mom didn't do this on purpose, it was actually my little brother.  See my mom thought he kept calling me Bosco Collin, which was cute too, but come to find out my brother was actually calling me Cullen.  As far as my first name goes, my dad named me Bosco after B.A. Baracus from the A-Team, B. is for Bosco, as played by Mr. T.

I was born on January 6th, 2013.  I have 3 siblings, 2 brothers and 1 little sister.  My parents, well my mom Stevie was an Italian Greyhound and our Pops Rowdy, he is a Chihuahua.  My mom was a very pretty young lady. My parents were actually really close to being the exact same color of tan - me and my 2 brothers got their coloring.  My sis - well, she's white and looks like a typical classic Chihuahua, large dark eyes, tiny little thing, and very sweet.  My brother Steve and I look a lot alike, we both got the hazel eyes that our sweet mom had.  We are quite handsome!  I am the most strapping of the bunch, by strapping, I mean the biggest.  We'll just say I was "healthy."

There was this lady who was friends with my human parents and she was basically "stalking" them the entire time we were being born.  She decided one day that she could come meet us.  She already KNEW she wanted me just from my photo, because I am pretty darn cute, but she wanted to meet me.

On February 20, 2013 she came.  She was nervous because it had been a long time since she had been a pet parent.  I am a lot of responsibility.  I was going to need someone to house-train me and take care of me and listen to me whine and I knew the first night away from my siblings would be tough.  That afternoon, she decided that she for sure did in fact want me to be her little fella.  So after church that night, the whole family came and took me to my forever home!

Look at me!  Such a handsome pup, I was only 7 weeks old!
Oh and this is my new dad!

Welcome to my RUFF LIFE!
